Crossroads SurePath is a stand-alone product that monitors and verifies the readability of data written to tape. It proactively alerts you to potential tape media degradation and reports on the overall health of your backup environment. It provides the capability to eliminate incomplete backups by monitoring, detecting, and reporting on drive utilization and imbalances.

Instor likes SurePath RVA for several reasons:

• Installation is fairly simple because it's out of band; there's no need to bring your entire system down to get RVA up and running.
• RVA offers real time stats. Some backup applications report results after the fact, but with RVA you get visibility into issues immediately, down to the drive level. When a problem is detected, RVA can alert you by email so that you can take corrective action to complete the backup.
• RVA will extend the life of drives and media. Its reports will pinpoint drives that are not running to capacity, or "shoe-shining", which in turn will save the wear and tear on the drive heads and media.
• It's a great product for organizations with large tape libraries, short backup windows, and a history of backups not completing on time. RVA will enhance the backup process and give you greater peace of mind.

GoVault is available as an internal or external drive. It offers built-in data de-duplication technology that eliminates redundant data, increasing the number of backup data sets that can be stored on a single disk, as well as the number of available recovery points. The result is reduced media handling, simplified management, and faster restores, which allows a more practical and cost effective way to provide disaster recovery points. Removable GoVault cartridges have native storage capacities of 40GB, 80GB, 120GB & 160GB, with a 26MB/s data transfer rate.
